Gary S. Nier Sr.

Gary S. Nier, Sr., age 73, resident of Mexico, formerly of Altmar, passed away Saturday at his home surrounded by his family. Gary was born November 18, 1951, in Canada, the son of Howard and Dorean Seymour Nier. Gary attended Sackets Harbor High School. He was a self-employed carpenter, working in the Altmar area for many years. He loved muscle cars and enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving, are his life-long partner, Jo-Ann McVey of Mexico, three sons, Randy (Jolie) Nier of Williamstown, Gary (Sheena) Nier, Jr., of Parish, and James (Dawnell) Nier of Hastings, grandchildren, Ana, Hunter, Ariel, Cameron, Graidey, and Jeramie, siblings, Jane Hess of Sackets Harbor, Belinda Nier of North Carolina, Darlene Nier of LaFargeville, Mike Nier of Brownville, and Howard Nier, Jr. of South Carolina. Gary was predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Nier and sister, Diane Nier.
A memorial service will be held, at 1p.m., Friday, May 9th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Hounsfield, NY. Calling hours will be held from 11a.m. to 1p.m. prior to the funeral.
