Gary Perkins Obituary
Gary was born on January 13, 1936, in Eldorado, Illinois, the eldest of six children born to Thomas Gibson Perkins and Helen Dorothy Perkins (née Mills).
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Manley (DD-940), a Forrest Sherman-class destroyer. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years and retired in 1992 at the young age of 56.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Shelvie Perkins (néeThomas); his daughter, Beth Perkins (Michael McGrath); and his beloved grandsons, Aidan and Jacob McGrath.
He is also survived by his brother James (Annette) Perkins and sister Peggy Arnold, both of Florida; his siblings-in-law: Shirley Stratton, Sherman (Virginia) Thomas, Sheron (Robert) Myers, and Sondra Glass, all of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Danny Perkins and Ronald Perkins; sister Judith Cramer; and nephew William Cramer.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial with full military honors will be held immediately after the services, at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Missouri.
