Gary Steven Power, 74, of Georgetown, Kentucky, passed away August 8th, 2025, surrounded by his family at home.

Born on November 13th, 1950 in Georgetown, Gary was a lifelong resident of Scott County. He graduated from Scott County High School in 1968 and went on to dedicate his career to public service as a maintenance supervisor with Georgetown/Scott County Parks & Recreation. His work reflected his deep commitment to the community he loved.

Gary was a devoted husband to Linda Watson Power and a proud father to Duane (Donella) Power, Veronica Taylor, and Jessica Power. He found great joy in watching his family grow and cherished his role as grandfather to Steven M. (Bri) Power, Brandon D. Power, Kaitlin (Daniel) Adams, and Mykal Taylor. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren Charlotte Ann Power, Michael C. Power, Olivia Rose Adams, and Isabella Paige Adams.

He is also remembered by his brothers Scott (Joan) Power and Randy (Shirley) Power. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, George Owen "Buck" Power and Edna Frances Sharon Power.

A man of many passions, Gary spent over two decades playing softball and later served as an umpire for local games-roles that reflected both his love for sports and his dedication to fair play. He was an avid baseball card collector and a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, University of Kentucky basketball, and Scott County sports teams. His enthusiasm for athletics extended far beyond the field and it was a thread that connected him with friends and family alike.

Gary's faith was an important part of his life. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown and carried with him the values of hard work, integrity, and devotion to family throughout all aspects of his life.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his presence. A Visitation will be held on August 14th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home at 320 W. Main St. His funeral service will be held on August 15th, 2025, with Larry W. Hammonds officiating, at 11:00 AM. His burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers Shawn Power, Brad Whitehead, Jr. Power, Larry Brandenburg, Shane Power, Steven Power, Brandon Power, & Bryan Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mykal Taylor, Tommy Payne, Wayne Power, Elwood Sharron, Roger Minnicks, Robert Brock, Trenton Power, & Josh Wright.

Friends and family are encouraged to leave memories and condolences on Gary's tribute wall located at www.tuckeryocumwilson.com.
