Gary Ray Ramsey, 69, of Bates City, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 to 12:30p.m., Tuesday November 18, 2025, at Community of Christ, 515 S. 1st Street, Odessa, MO 64076. A funeral service will follow at the church. An interment with military honors will take place immediately after service, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Higginsville, MO. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Dawn Ramsey. Gary was born on December 6, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Francis and Velma Mae (Cathey) Ramsey. After high school, Gary honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Army, receiving national defense service medal and expert (tank gunner). He worked in the assembly line at GM. Gary was a member of the Community of Christ. Gary was united in marriage to Dawn (Olvitt) Ramsey in Odessa, Missouri. Along with spending time with family and friends, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, and raising parakeets.
Gary is survived by his wife, Dawn Ramsey of the home, five children, Melanie (Darrell) Marshall of Loxley, AL, Matthew Ramsey of AL, Alicia (Genaro Retana) Hudson of Bates City, MO, Jessica (William Rogers) Thomas of Bates City, MO, and Christina (Kraig) Fletcher; eight grandchildren, Savannah (Calvin Parnell) Noe, Elijah Marshall, Jaythan McCartney, Alejandro Retana, Faith Thomas, Grace Thomas, Brooklyn Hughes, and Colby McCartney; one great-grandchild, Dylan Marshall; and many other relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by both his parents.
