Gary Reif

Gary John Reif, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 27, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. He was born on September 30, 1963, to the late Harvey and Helen Reif.
Gary's formative years were spent at Trinity Lutheran School. He graduated from Reese High School in 1983, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), demonstrating his early passion for agriculture. His commitment to learning and growth led him to the Tuscola Area Skill Center, where he honed his skills and later served as a paraprofessional in agricultural mechanics.
Furthering his education, Gary attended Lincoln Technical School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he graduated with his mechanical license. He worked at Janson Equipment, where he meticulously maintained school buses, farm equipment, and Ken's Redi-Mix. He became the owner and operator of his own semi-truck, hauling for Star of the West in Frankenmuth.
Gary is survived by his loving sister, Kimberly Blodgett; devoted nephew, Daniel Blodgett; and his caring nieces, Kristen (Matthew) Doellner and Emily (Robert) Haddix and great-niece Zoey Haddix. He is also survived by an extended family of cousins and his lifelong friend, Scott Marx.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jean Louise, and his brother Wayne.
Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes. A funeral service to honor Gary's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 7, 2025. Visitation will be from 10 am until 12 noon, with the funeral service commencing at 12:00 pm. Pastor Daniel Burhop, who provided exceptional care and spiritual support to Gary, will officiate. The service will be followed by a burial at Gilford Township Cemetery, where Gary will be laid to rest.
