Gary Paul Rex

Gary passed away following a short battle with cancer on December 8th, 2024. He was born in Portland, Oregon on March 9th, 1934, to Fred and Isabelle Rex.
His father, mother and brother John preceded him in death.
Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley, daughters Kathy Knutson and family, Debra Kluttz and family; Stepson Robert Boyanovsky and his family; and many grand and great grandchildren.
Following graduation from Albany High in 1957 he entered the USMC that spring serving in Korea and honorably discharged May of 1961. He lived his life as a proud Marine.
Following discharge from USMC he began his career with the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and pipe fitting industry with Local 290. He was awarded his 65-year Membership Certificate in September 2023. Over this long career he has left his footprint throughout the State of Oregon and the work he did on the Pipeline in Alaska.
Per his request there will not be a funeral service at this time. He will be remembered by family and friends at a memorial planned for the Spring of 2025.
