Benjamin Jackson Obituary

Benjamin Daniel Lanham Jackson passed away Dec. 5, 2025, in Gresham, Oregon. He was 42.

Ben was born May 25, 1983, in Albany, Oregon, to Kim Daniel and Julie Anne (Lanham) Jackson. The family lived in Gresham for three years before moving back to Albany, where Ben spent most of his life. He attended Central Elementary, Memorial Middle School, and graduated from West Albany High School in 2001.

Collecting Nike athletic shoes was Ben's passion, but most important to him was his family and friends. He worked very hard on his sobriety in order to enjoy being with those he loved. Those who knew Ben well understood his struggles and were fiercely proud of the determination with which he fought.

He loved to go camping (mostly off the grid), particularly with his son, Kendrick. He would be the unofficial fireworks ambassador with Kendrick and his friends, helping them to shoot off the biggest and loudest they could find.

In addition to collecting Nike's, Ben began custom painting shoes with an airbrush and sold several pairs, hoping to turn it into a small online business.

Ben worked at several jobs over the years, working in the construction industry for the last three years. He was proud to be known as a hard and conscientious worker.

Ben is survived by his parents, Kim and Julie Jackson of Albany, Oregon; sister Hannah Peterson and her husband, Michah Peterson, and their children, Maverick and Cecelia, of Millersburg, Oregon; his uncle Billy Lanham of Albany, Oregon; his aunt and uncle Jill Lanham and Darryl Mussellwhite of Grandview, Texas; uncle and aunt Charlie and Paula Lanham of Meridian, Idaho; aunt and uncle Julie Aquilizon and Dale Ediger of Portland, Oregon; Cousins and stepchildren Donovan Seiber, Britney Seiber, Phillip Seiber and Ashley Hawkins.

Ben is preceded in death by his son, Kendrick Daniel Jackson, grandparents, Bill and Connie Lanham and grandmother, Doris Jackson and aunt Penny Burroughs.

A Service will be held on January 10th, 2026 at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Albany, Oregon at 1PM, with a Wake following at Loafers Station. All are welcome.
