Crystal Lynn (Johnson) Walker, 66, of Albany passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 in the hospital after a fall at home. She passed in her sleep with her Mom and Aunt by her side.
She was born in Albany to Terrell (Slim) and Joyce Johnson on September 10, 1959. Michael, "Little Brother" as she lovingly called him, was born three years and four days later. Crystal attended kindergarten at Assembly of God Church, Grade School at Waverly, North Albany Jr. High, transferred to Calapooia Jr. High, and graduated from South Albany High School in 1977. She attended Linn Benton Community Collage after taking a year off and graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Medical Reception.
Her first job in medical records was at the Lebanon Hospital until she was in a serious car accident. We almost lost her that time, but God spared her, that time. She had numerous other jobs in reception, medical billing, and patent accounts at a Psychiatrist office, Albany Anesthesia, and Samaritan Health to name only a few. She made special friends while working. One of those special friends that she stayed in touch with was Dr. Kuttner.
Crystal mentioned at her Pa's funeral that "You and Mom taught me right from wrong and I use those skills everyday in my life. I have been acknowledged for my good morals and strong work ethics which I owe to you and Mom." Before her Pa passed away, she spent numerous hours by his side, helping him. She continued to live with and help her mom. Throughout her life, she made special friends. One lifelong from grade school, others through quilting. She spent hours, more like days, to hand pick just the right fabric, figure out the best pattern and then sew those colorful pieces together by hand. She also enjoyed genealogy.
It's hard to sum up someones life in just a few words. Crystal had struggles and she had pains, but she also had a good sense of humor. She trusted the Lord. She had written out something that adversely affected her life; the pros and cons. Her written out conclusion summed up: For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good, and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11. She will be missed dearly.
Crystal is survived by her mom, Joyce; brother, Mike; sister-in-law, Chanthy; niece, Emily; and ex-husband John Walker Jr. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her dad, "Slim".
Crystal's memorial service will be Saturday January 3rd at 1:00pm. Fisher Funeral Home 306 S. W. Washington Street,
Albany, OR. 97321
