Gary Riffe, 74, of Gilbert, WV, passed away on September 4, 2025, at Logan General Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born in Steeles, West Virginia, to Ray Carl Riffe and Mary Belle (Sarver) Riffe on November 15, 1950. He was a graduate of Gilbert High School, Class of 1968.

A master carpenter, Gary, along with his brother Larry, learned their skills under the careful guidance of their father. Together, they established R&R Kitchen Sales, a testament to their dedication and skill. Gary's woodworking skills were renowned, and his craftsmanship has left a mark on countless homes in the community.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Riffe, and his sister-in-law, Emma Carol Murphy Riffe; nephew, Gary Wakum; and his sisters, JoAnn Hurd of Kingsport, TN, Clara Jackson of Huntsville, AL, Gail Riffe of Bastian, VA, Frankie Perkins of Crown Point, IN, and Ava Cook of Gilbert, WV.

Gary leaves behind his niece, Tonya Wakham; nephew, Logan Wakham; and a host of close friends, including Patrick Callaway, Danny George Browning, Jamey Boggess, Ed Munroe, and Debbie Baker.

Gary had a passion for fast cars and NASCAR, which was a significant part of his life. Another of his hobbies was working in his woodshop, where he crafted beautiful wooden pieces of art.

Gary wished to be cremated, and his ashes placed with his mother and father. There will be no formal service. His spirit and memory will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to call him their friend.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
