Gary Rings

RINGS, Gary Wayne 77, was born March 20, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio, to parents Roy W. and Virginia (Thalgott) Rings. Gary passed away on May 28, 2023, in Tampa, Florida. He was a graduate of Wooster High School in 1965, and Ohio University in 1969. Gary served in the Army from 1969 to 1971 and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He worked for the Tampa Tribune as a photo editor and staff photographer from 1971 to 2008. He is survived by his longtime companion, Donna Williams; daughter, Wendy Sue Moore, of Marshall, North Carolina; son, Matthew J. (Tammy) Rings, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Camryn, Kaleigh, and Mary Ashleigh; brother, Steve Rings, of Vera Beach; sister, Cindy Edwards, of Wooster, Ohio; nephew, Chris (Kasey) Rings; niece, Lucy Mae; great-nieces, Madison and Issabella; and his stepmother, Lorraine Rings, of Sun City Center, Florida. Gary will be missed by many but never forgotten. A gathering in memory will be held on June 8 at 10 am at New Beginnings Christian Church with a burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery at 2 pm.
