Gary Dean Robbins, 78, of Moore, Oklahoma, died February 24th, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was born on October 7, 1947 to Lila Robbins (née Downey) and Melvin Staton in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

He was raised in Bridgeport, Texas by his paternal grandmother and her husband until about 1958, when his mother moved him to Oklahoma City.

Gary enlisted in the United States Navy in 1966 and served aboard the USS Vancouver LPD-2 during the Vietnam War. He was later recognized by the Veterans Administration as having been exposed to Agent Orange as a result of his time in the Navy.

He later worked as an Aviotics Technician at Tinker Airforce Base, and retired in 1993 to be a stay-at-home caretaker to his infant daughter born the same year.

He was an avid fan of hotrods, motorcycles and dirt bikes and frequently took his 1986 Ford F-150 to car shows. He was also a Cub Scout leader and coached soccer when his sons were children.

Gary is survived by three children; Douglas Robbins, David Robbins and wife Yvonne Robbins, Lindsay Robbins, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Shelby and Maude Haggard; parents, Lila Robbins and Melvin Staton, and step-father William "Bill" Robbins.

Private services were held on March 5th, 2026.
