Gary Arthur Roehl

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Arthur Roehl on April 10, 2025 in Satellite Beach Florida.
He was born on November 5, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Jean and Arthur Roehl.
Gary worked for Coastal Company (formally known as Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline Company and ANR) from December 13, 1969 to February 28 of 2000. He was the second longest serving employee. He started out in the mailroom at 18 years old, then he was promoted to the safety department, as a safety engineer where he taught how to extinguish gas line fires, defensive driving, CPR, first aid. He also worked in the personnel department, where he was active and served with MESRA, involved with downtown Detroit community functions including working with the parade, marathon runs, Detroit Symphony, and functions with Emily's in Detroit. He completed his career as a Hearing Conservation Specialist and loved traveling the country testing hearing at the company's oil sites, including flying by helicopter to his favorite offshore oil rigs. He loved the travel and the generous hospitality of friends he met along the way.
Gary enjoyed his retirement years in his Satellite Beach oceanfront condo. He loved hosting guests and sharing a good meal with family and friends. He spent time watching anything sports related on TV. He rarely missed a Jeopardy episode and likely could have been a winning contestant as he always seemed to have the correct answers. He loved sitting on his balcony smoking a cigar while gazing endlessly at the ocean, and listening to the radio. It made him so proud to be able to provide a place that his family could enjoy the beach. He was a great listener and a very supportive father. He possessed a quiet grace and was liked by many.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara (Christopher) Rospierski and Donna (Tim) Luke; sons, Tom Roehl and Christian Roehl; grandchildren, Riley and Sterling Luke, Westley and Nicholas Roehl. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Arthur Roehl; sister, Linda Garavaglia and brother-in-law, Mike Garavaglia; and ex-wife, Judith Heiney.
Dad was especially grateful to Tom for his many years of loving care.
The family will celebrate Gary's life privately at a later date.
