Gary Alan Russeau was born to Radis and Katherine (Kiley) Russeau on December 20, 1948, in Monroe, Michigan. He was a devoted son, loving father, and cherished grandfather, whose life was a testament to service, family, and the pursuit of knowledge.
After graduating from high school, Gary enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country with unwavering dedication. His distinguished military career included significant roles at the Pentagon and duty stations overseas where he worked on A-10 and C-130 aircraft and served as the Director of War Plans. Gary achieved the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring, and he furthered his education by completing various college courses during his time in the military.
An avid computer enthusiast, Gary was renowned for his skills in building and repairing computers. He was at the forefront of technological innovation in the military, testing the first tabletop computers and meticulously identifying programming errors to enhance their functionality.
His passion for technology was only surpassed by his love for his family. He formed a remarkable bond with his best friend and wife, Karen, who he met when they were just 10 and 13 years old, and their enduring friendship brought joy and fifty-two years of wedded bliss to his life. Gary was a devoted father and grandfather, always eager to share new experiences with his children and grandchildren. He believed in the importance of exploration and adventure, ensuring that wherever he went, his family would join him.
Gary Alan Russeau, aged 75, of Monroe passed away peacefully at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital on Tuesday; December 3, 2024, with his loving wife at his side.
