Gary M. "Kicker" Seeley, Sr., age 71, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at FirstHealth Hospice House in West End, North Carolina.
Born on April 6, 1954, Gary grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and a strong sense of service. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam Era Veteran in the United States Army, and his time in the military remained a source of honor and pride throughout his life.
Gary had a passion for the open road and found great joy in motorcycle riding. Known affectionately as "Kicker" among his Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club brothers, he embraced the freedom, camaraderie, and adventure that came with life on two wheels.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, June Zapata and Wesley Seeley, his stepfather Miguel Zapata, and siblings Larry Seeley, Michelle Wilson, and Jennie Spring Moreno.
Gary is survived by his three children, Gary Seeley Jr. and wife Christian of Bunnlevel, NC, Terri Seeley Fox of Sanford, NC, and Shawn Seeley and wife Josie of Bear Creek, NC. He was a cherished grandfather to Kayden, Harper, Tristan, Shyanna, Deanna Seeley, Peyton Fox, and a proud great-grandfather to Addison and Kamari Smith.
He is also survived by his siblings, Judy Fugate and David Zapata, both of Sanford, NC. Gary was loved by many nieces and nephews including Charles and Ronnie Seeley, Billy Spring, John Benson, Ricky and Steven Graham, Tonia McLean, and Dawn Tootle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake. The funeral service will held at 2 p.m. at Adcock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow the funeral at Barbecue Presbyterian Church, Barbecue Church Rd., Sanford, NC.
In honor of Gary's enduring love for motorcycles, his final ride will be provided by Final Ride of Sanford, NC, a motorcycle funeral coach.
Gary's warmth, strength, and loyalty touched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow riders.
