Gary Alan “Al” Senkbeil, 72, of Albany, GA, died August 23, 2024 at his residence. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of The First Methodist Church of Albany. Rev. Jim Morrow will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2027 at Mathews Funeral Home from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm.
Al was born in Sylvester, GA, on March 26, 1952 to Ervin and Jewell Senkbeil. He grew up in Worth County, GA and graduated from Worth County High School in 1970. Al attended Albany Junior College and moved to Lee County, GA before moving to Albany, GA in 2004. He was the owner of Health Choice Insurance Company.
Al was a member of The First Methodist Church of Albany and loved Golf. He was a member of Radium Springs Country Club before it’s closing and was a resident and member of Stonebridge Golf and Country Club. Al made 4 holes in one, two at Riverpointe Golf Club and two at Stonebridge Golf and Country Club.
Al’s other passion was his guitar and would perform when asked to would play at Church and other venues. During High School, he was a member of Lovin’ Feelin’ Band and also belonged to the group 501 Pine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Senkbeil and his nephew, Michael Senkbeil.
Survivors include his wife, Jody Senkbeil, his brother and his wife, Billy and Marsha Senkbeil, his sister-in-law, Margie Senkbeil, a nephew and his wife, Eddie and Linda Senkbeil, his nieces, Jill Cobb and Amanda McChesney and her husband Joe and his great nieces and nephews, Lauren Cobb, Bailey Cobb, Bentley Cobb, Ian Senkbeil, Beau Senkbeil, Christopher McChesney and beloved dogs Jarvis and Mattie.
Those desiring may make memorials in memory of Al to the Albany Humane Society, 1705 W. Oakridge Drive, Albany, GA, 31707.
