Gary Shell Obituary

He was born in Virginia in 1950 and served our country in the United States Army.
Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy Shell; stepson, Brian Kenney (Anita); grandchildren, Rhiannon Dorsey (Paden), Bridget Kenney and sister, Oddie Whittington.
He enjoyed singing, dancing, and carrying on. Gary was always the life of the party and loved being surrounded by his family and friends. If you have ever listened to a Willie Nelson song, that is the life/vibe Gary lived.
A graveside service will be held for Gary on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11am in Gravel Springs Cemetery in Star Tannery, VA. Following the service there will be a picnic in honor of Gary at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, 560 Old Bethel Road, Winchester, VA 22603.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gary to Legacy Hospice at [email protected].

Nancy and family, I was so sorry to hear about dear Gary. He was always so special to Kirby and me and we shared many laughs over the years. He was a true hero and his service in Viet Nam was just a small part of his dedication to others. I hope he and Kirby are sharing time together in heaven today. God bless and I love you.
