Gary Slaughter

April 4, 1962 – July 31, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, Gary Slaughter. He was educated in the Kansas City area school district and worked tirelessly as a stocker growing up for many years at the City Market downtown Kansas City. Gary was born to Clifton and Jean Slaughter on April 4, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and was educated in the Kansas City area school district. Gary started working at a young age and continued to work tirelessly as a stocker for many years at the downtown City Market.

Gary was a true survivor his entire life and endured so many challenges. However, he was able to beat the odds. Gary enjoyed having a good time in his own way. He loved walking everywhere downtown and hanging out with his friends. One thing for sure, Gary did not take much from anyone and he’d let you know by the choice words he’d use, but deep down inside, he had a good, caring and loving heart.

Gary accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He learned to trust in the Lord with all his heart. He departed this life on Thursday, July 31, 2025. His Father, Clifton Slaughter, Sister, Rosemary Dyson and his beloved Nephew, Kevin Slaughter (whom Gary spoke of so often) preceded him in death.

Gary leaves to cherish his memories: Jean Slaughter (Mother), 6 sisters, Ida B. Friar and her 2 children, Mildred Slaughter-Blissett and her 4 children, Ella Slaughter and her 2 children, Theresa Webb (Roosevelt) and their 3 children, Rosemary Dyson (deceased) (Al) and their 1 child, Sandra Smith (Eric) and their 3 children; Step-Mother, Mae Pearl Slaughter, 5 Sisters, Jacqueline Griffin (Tommy) and 3 children, Loretta

Davis (Keith) and their 7 children, Anna King and her 2 children, Yolanda King and her 6 children, and Catina Slaughter and her 4 children and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family of Gary Slaughter would like to thank you for your prayers, cards, donations and every kind act, word and deed. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Slaughter.
