Gary Slemmer Obituary
Born in Reading to the late Gary L. Lockwood and Donna (Burger) Lockwood, Gary was raised from a young age by his maternal grandparents, Jane and Richard Slemmer. He joined Gerry and Kathy Slemmer's family as a teenager and quickly became a part of their brood. Gary joined the Army and served in Germany, providing IT assistance to his commanding officer. After his military service, Gary worked as a lending agent for various mortgage companies.
Gary is survived by his mother, Donna; brother, Randy Lockwood; and the loving family of Gerry and Kathleen Slemmer; their children, Jacob and Cynthia Slemmer-Martin; nephews, Jakob and Julian Martin; niece, Aislyn Martin, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 12:30 pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County at www.berksarl.org.

Gary made me feel welcomed when I moved to the Wilson School District by always yelling my last name or making me laugh. As the years went on even up until a few months ago he'd reach out and ask how I'm doing, how certain friends were doing and how some members of my family were doing. I will always remember Gary by his jokes, laughter and smile.
