Mr. Gary Lee Smith, 62, Henley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, May 19, 2025 at home. He was born September 20, 1962 in Jefferson City, a son of the late Robert Lee and Vera (Turpin) Kelsey.

Gary loved the outdoors. He was a skilled artist, professional in-demand Landscaper, and a simple man who loved his family and God.

He is survived by one daughter: Dawn Smith of Seattle Washington; two grandchildren; siblings: Sandy Sapp of Springfield, MO., Tammy Phillips of Jacksonville, AR., Melissa (Scott) Copeland of Henley, MO., Robert Kelsey Jr. of Eugene, MO., Bedie Sonnier of Jacksonville, AR., Pamela (Craig) Kelsey-Lepper of Henley, MO., Jackie Brown of Kansas City, MO.; step-mother: Gloria Land of Kansas City, MO.; best friend: Doug Lammers; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Kelsey Sr. and Vera Kelsey; siblings: Dale Sapp, Dennis Smith, and Amy Johnson.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date with burial in Riverview Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
