Gary Staples Obituary

Provo Utah —Gary B Staples, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at home on May 10, 2022 at the age of 57 after a courageous 7-year battle with lung cancer. He remained a strong believer of Christ and the prophets who have testified of Him since the beginning.
Gary was born on February 7, 1965 in Granger, Utah - the fourth of six children of David and Janet Staples.
On December 18, 1987 he married the love of his life, Julie Ann Mitton, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They then welcomed three children: Steven, Christian, and Mischael. In 2014, Gary and Julie adopted two amazing daughters, Diana and Maria, who have become integral members of the family.
Gary started Aspen Senior Care, an in-home care company and Aspen Senior Day Center.
He is survived by his beloved family: his wife, Julie Ann Mitton Staples; their children and spouses, Steven (Whitney) Staples, Christian (Sara) Staples, Diana (Luis) Macias, Mischael (Jonathan) Jones, Maria (Marcos) Reynaga; and his four sweet and beautiful grandchildren, Luke, Andrew, Lucy and Bennett, as well as his siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Janet Staples, and his father-in-law, Jay Mitton.
In lieu of flowers, Gary desired everyone to listen to K-LOVE radio (107.5 fm in Utah) and watch The Chosen and make donations to both. Please share any memories of Gary at MemoriesofGaryStaples.com
Public viewing will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 4-6 pm and the funeral will be Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2 pm. Both will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 303 W 3700 N Provo, UT 84604.

Dear Julie,
I met you once while you were walking with Gary in Rock Canyon Park.
My husband, David, attended the Aspen Senior Center for several years. Gary was such a caring gentleman to all of the people there. He was polite, attentive, and above all, loving.
When David was in a Rehab facility, Gary took Robert, a friend from the Center, to visit. That meant so much to David, and contributed to his deep feelings of love for Gary.
We mourn with you, and pray that you will feel peace.

We are sorry about your great loss of Gary. We know Gary from his years in Highland growing up. Keith was his bishop when Gary served with honor his mission. Gary was always friendly, kind and willing to serve others. His legacy will continue on because of how he lived. We send you our condolences during a difficult time. May you have peace and comfort
