Gary Stenson passed away Friday evening, October 15, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was 74 years old. Gary was born April 30, 1947 in Aurora, IL, the son of Eugene and Anne Stenson.
For over 45 years, Gary worked in the auto parts field in sales. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving school bus.
On June 30, 2001, he was united in marriage with Mayet Manlangit in the Philippines.
Gary was a member of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo) in New Berlin, where he served as a Deacon. He had belonged to RC Aircraft and Car groups in the area, and valued the friendships he made through them. He had a lifelong love of drag racing, and in his younger years had enjoyed competing in races in the Midwest.
Gary is survived by his wife Mayet and his children: Chad Stenson (fiancé Kirby Kendall) of Oostburg and Kari (Todd) Miller of Grafton. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren; siblings Ronald Stenson of CA, Debbie Grube of CA and Diane Stenson of FL; Mayet's family; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Ave. in Oostburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00PM-1:00PM. Gary will be laid to rest at Oostburg Cemetery.
