Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dial & Dudley Funeral Home - Bryant on Apr. 12, 2023.
Gary Wayne Stowers, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Gary was born on Wednesday, January 4, 1967, in Okmulgee, OK. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Don Allen Wilhite, who passed shortly after birth. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 10 years, Pamela Stowers, and his brother, Michael Wilhite.
One could say that Gary had two births in his lifetime. First, his physical birth to his biological parents, Bill and Wanda Wilhite (both deceased), and a second birth at the age of four along with his youngest sister, Cindy, by his adoptive parents, William R. (Buddy) and Marilyn Stowers (both deceased). He was very loved and accepted by his new family. In years to come he would enjoy the same love and acceptance after reuniting with his biological siblings and extended family members.
Gary was an avid Razorback football fan and animal lover, especially dogs. He enjoyed fishing, music, good food, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor, a contagious smile, and a laugh that would fill the room. He was the fun-loving Uncle Gary to his nieces and nephews. He made many lifelong friends along the way and leaves us all with special memories of our time spent with him. A special heartfelt thanks goes out to his niece and nephews, Tiffany Wilhite, Hudson, and Dallas for the love and support they gave to their Uncle Gary in recent months.
Gary was a 1987 graduate of Benton High School and a military veteran serving in the US Army. He was a member of New Hope Church Nazarene of Little Rock.
To know Gary was to love him, just as he was, in whatever chapter of his life he was in. We find comfort knowing that he is at peace and in the presence of our Savior as well as family members who went before him, who now welcome him home.
He is survived by brothers Billy Wilhite of Little Rock, AR; Ronnie (Libby) Wilhite of
Whitehall, AR; Robert (Abby) Wilhite of Benton, AR; sisters Brenda (Tim) Wooley of Paron, AR; Melissa (Eric) Collins of Little Rock, AR; and Cindy (Allen) Carver of Benton, AR; and in special recognition of extended family, Jamie Wood, Jennifer Watson and Gary's godchildren Teri Jane Dodd and TJ "Bubba" Dodd and his fur-buddy, Junior, along with a host of a family and friends who love and will dearly miss him.
Honorary Pallbearers: Hudson Wilson, Dallas Wilson, Eric Collins, Josh Mormon, Marlon Alarcon, Tim Wooley, Alex Stivers, Randy Stivers, Dylan Wilhite, Allen Carver, Keaton Land, Ross Carver, Brexton Jones, Thomas Owens, Carter Owens, Kole Thompson, Kacie Thompson, Brett Chandler, and Adam Warner.
