Gary Lynn Talley was born in Selmer, Tennessee, the son of Doris Phillips Talley and the late Benjamin Franklin Talley.
On July 25, 1980, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Marie Breese.
Gary worked in the maintenance department for the Hardin County Board of Education. He was a member of Twin Creeks Hunting Club. In his spare time Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Gary departed this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 17 days, as a result of a tragic car accident. His wife, Sue Talley, passed away a few hours before him due to her injuries from the same accident.
Gary is survived by his children, Shawn Talley (Tasha), Johnny Shelby (Sonya), Robin Beam (Roger), and Timmy Talley (Chastity); grandchildren, Macy Fralix, Kaelin Fralix, Ayden Fralix, Mark Gregory, Katarina Gregory, James Shelby, Samantha Shelby, Tiffany Shelby, Carla Ganus, Jeffrey White, Tristan White, Dustin Talley, Dylan Talley, Logan Talley, Autumn Banks, Kaitlin Banks, and Levi Banks; 13 great grandchildren; mother, Doris Talley; stepmother, Patsy Talley; sisters, Beverly Parmly (James), Patricia Lee, Teresa Gordon (Danny), Venesa Sheffield (Wade), and Diana Scott; and sister-in-law, Danna Franks-Talley.
In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by one infant sister and one brother, Jeffery Talley.
