Gary Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Perry Chapel on Jan. 20, 2026.
Gary Richard Taylor, age 66 of Perry, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 on the family farm he grew up on. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on January 11, 2026 at the Mayfair Bar, 1589 Lake Lansing Road, Haslett, MI 48840.
Born on November 28, 1959 to the late Richard Taylor and Elizabeth (Morton) Taylor. He was also proceeded in death by his sister Sue. Gary is survived by his brother Robert Taylor, his sister and best friends, Kay (Scott) Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
Gary graduated from Perry High School, Class of 1978. GO RAMBLERS! After graduating, Gary worked for Spartan Asphalt but came back to work on the family farm. Which he proudly named Corn Bore Farms. He had a vast knowledge of soybean and corn commodities.
Gary also worked at Grange Acres Apartment Complex as a maintenance man. During this time he found his second home with the great staff of the Mayfair Bar! Which he has his own chair at the end of the bar with a plaque which proudly states "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Saved for Scary Gary from Perry!" Gary could have a conversation with anyone with a love of sports, rooting for Michigan and the Lions! He would also share all the shows of Gun Smoke and Rifleman. He would also share his love for Rock & Roll which took him to a lot of concerts.
Gary was hardworking and very fun to be around! He will be greatly missed by family and all the friends he made along his journey in life!
