Gary Ralph Thomas, age 78, of Baxley passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
Mr. Thomas was born April 20, 1947 in Appling County to the late Floyd Thomas and the late Lois Youmans Thomas Beasley. He was a member of Hopewell Church and was the owner & operator of G & S Auto Sales for 21 years. He was also a member of the TarTappers Square Dance Club and the Kross Kountry Kloggers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Carroll Pat Thomas and Earl Floyd Thomas, sister-in-law, Claudine (Kendall) Mills, and a nephew, Ricky Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Miles Thomas of Baxley; sister-in-law, Sue Thomas of Baxley; nieces and nephews, Greg (Connie) Thomas, Debra (Tommy) Lawrence, Keith (Pam) Thomas, Brian (Beatriz) Mills, Tina (John) Pearson, Tammy (Bo) Flowers, and Gwen (Joe) Johns; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Church with Rev. Bobby Gale and Rev. Lance McCarty officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Greg Thomas, Keith Thomas, Tommy Youmans, Mike Smith, Tommy Lawrence, and Rob Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Hopewell Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
Remembrance may be made to Hopewell Church 1759 Red Oak Road, Baxley, GA 31513.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
