GODFREY — Gary Vucich, 78, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at 3:08 p.m. at his home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Born Nov. 2, 1942 in Alton, Illinois, he was the son of Charles Albert Vucich and Catherine Wyomia (Giles) Vucich.
Gary was a member of Beltline Christian Church and retired as a delivery driver for UPS after 29 years.
He was an avid patron of Mr. Donut and enjoyed golfing at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
He also loved going to his grandkids sporting events.
Above all, he valued faith, friendships, and family.
On Oct. 9, 1965 he married the former Karen Rose Ragusa in Godfrey. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Doug Vucich and his wife Trish of Godfrey, and David Vucich of Edwardsville, Illinois; two grandchildren, Peyton and Ross; also two brothers, Jim Vucich of Godfrey, and William "Billy" Bock of Alton, Illinois; and two sisters, Lana Kornick of Diamond Head, Mississippi and Darlene Vucich of Metairie, Louisiana; along with beloved nieces and nephews, Rachel Tornetto, Allison Spooner, Courtney and Robbie Cook, Parker and Katie Kornick.
Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marsha Vucich and Barbara Spooner.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Gent Funeral Home, 2409 State Street, Alton, IL 62002 where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021.
Reverend Todd Shaw will officiate.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beltline Christian Church, charity of your choice, or the greatest gift anyone can give, is to invite Jesus into your heart.
