Born and raised in Randolph, Gary was deeply rooted in his community, actively participating in youth baseball, cross country, and volleyball. His vibrant spirit and love for sports extended into his adult life, where he spent countless hours organizing and playing on the bank's softball team, coaching his sons, and supporting their athletic endeavors through college.
Gary attended Alfred State before transferring to Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned his bachelor's degree. His professional journey began at Lincoln First, where he met Barbara, whom he married on May 1, 1976. Gary's career took him through various roles, each providing him the opportunity to connect with people—whether working at a newsstand, assisting customers at a home store, or preparing fields for youth sports.
Gary’s life was enriched by his family. Over the years, Gary fostered deep, lasting friendships with neighbors and friends who became like family.
In his later years, Gary found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, watching them grow, and being a playful and loving Grandpa. Gary's legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd, with Funeral Service to follow.
