Gary Wayne Walker

Gary Wayne Walker, 78, of Lexington, Kentucky, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was the son of the late Fred Taft Walker and Lela Riddle Walker. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mildred "Millie" Walker; and daughters, Michelle Walker Lacey (Wayne), and Stacie Walker Walls (Chris Herman); granddaughter, Faith Walls; great-grandson, Kasen Cromer; and Godchildren, Whitney Young, and Austin Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him so very much. Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brothers, Judson (Norma) Walker, and Charles (Mary) Walker. Gary was previously a member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church. Gary retired from Version after 29 years and was preparing to retire from the State Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Gary was on the board of directors for the Greater Kentucky Credit Union for more than 30 Years. Gary was also a member for over 25 years at the University of Kentucky 101 Club.
Funeral services will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky, 40507, on December 17, 2025, at 02:00 PM. Burial will follow at The Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM.
