Gary Lynn Watson, a native of Pampa, Texas, the son of the late Jimmie Dale Watson Sr and Corine Watson was called home early Monday morning, August 12, 2024.
Before graduating from high school, Gary found his calling to preach. Throughout his upbringing as the middle child of five siblings, Gary's strong faith and devotion to the Lord shone brightly. After attending Independent Baptist College in Dallas and serving briefly as a pastor in Sulpher Springs, TX, Gary transitioned into a long and fulfilling career with Kroger Grocery that spanned almost three decades.
Known for his kind heart and unwavering commitment to his work, Gary made a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His dry humor was well known to his many friends. His dedication to his family was unparalleled, especially his late wife that he cared for during her last few years of life, assisting her with wheelchair needs.
Gary bid farewell to this world at Avalon Memory Care in Irving, where he resided, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and love that will continue to resonate with all who knew him. In honoring his wishes, Gary will have a Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050 beginning visitation with family at 9, continuing with Service at 10, Pastor Larry Craig officiating. According to his wishes, cremation will follow.
Survivors included loving mother, Corine Watson; loving children, Naomi Watson, Sam Watson; grandchildren; Caleb Shain and spouse Raven, Jacob Shain, Michael Shain; 3 great-grandchildren; loving sister, Gwendolyn Watson Craig and her spouse Larry, loving brother, Bruce Dean Watson and spouse Bettie Joe; sisters-in-law, Arlinda Vargas Watson and Shery Grossman Watson. Also, by a caring nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Watson; father, Jimmie Dale Watson Sr; brothers, Jimme Watson Jr, Ronnie Daryl Watson and daughter, Hannah Watson Shain.
