Gary L. Watterson

Gary Lynn Watterson, affectionately known as "P.I." passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at The Sanctuary at Passage Hospice in New Orleans, LA. He was born the son of Artheria Watterson and Jewel Ephraim on February 22, 1953. He was reared by his aunt, Wille Mae Ephriam.

He received his religious teaching at an early age at Thirkield United Methodist Church. Gary P.I. as well known and loved by his biological family and his Richardson town family and friends. P.I. resided between Bogalusa and H-Town (Houston) but his greatest love was Richardson in Bog.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Monica (Fred) O'Ree of Bogalusa, La and son, Robert (Tarnish D.) Reynold of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; five sisters, Artheria (Shane) Watterson, Sharon "Penny" Jenkins, Debra Watterson, Joyce Elaine Watterson all of Houston, TX and devoted sister Jewel Marie Simon of Bogalusa, LA; brothers Robert Watterson, Chester (Debra) Watterson of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Lazette Watterson, and Ellen Watterson of Houston, TX, and brother-in-law, Charles Lester of Bogalusa, LA; a special friend Marcus Tilman. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

P.I. was preceded in death by his mother, Artheria Watterson, his father, Jewel Ephraim, a special aunt, Willie Mae Ephraim, his brothers Lurse, Oscar, Michael and Larry Sr., a sister, Joan Watterson Courett, brothers-in-law, Lawrence Courett, Charley Simon and Clarence Jenkins: sister-in-law Renee Watterson
