Gary Whelan Sr Obituary
Gary John Whelan Sr, 67 of Raleigh passed away Monday January 12, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery. The family will greet friends starting at 1:00 pm, Saturday before the funeral.
Gary was born in Boston, MA son of the late James Thomas Whelan and Jean Theresa Mullan Whelan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Whelan Sr. He enjoyed the beach, playing pool, golf, riding his Harley, the Carolina Hurricanes and the New England Patriots.
Mr. Whelan is survived by his children, Jessica Whelan, Blair Whelan, Reva Whelan, Johnny Whelan Jr; siblings, Geanine W Eisel (Jim), Jim Whelan (Kristan) and Jeff Whelan (Kim).
