Gary Lee Wood Sr. of Conroe, Texas passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on April 23, 2023, after fighting an illness for over a year, at the age of 68. He was born in Houston, Texas on April 9, 1955 to parents, R.L Wood and Sally Burns.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Ray Wood and Clifford Wood, his sisters, Debra Ann Childres and Jeannie O'Neal, his son, Lee Burns, and his uncle, George Schauer.
Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Gary Lee Wood Jr; daughter, Brandie Wood and spouse Shane Millican; son, Benjamin Wood; son, Taven Wood; daughter, Tessa Wood; grandchildren: Tyler Gardner and wife Megan, Christopher Gardner and fiancé Kara Kelley, Courtney Chaney and fiancé Luke Killian, Dallas Mannisto and husband Danny, Jacob Humphries, William Wood, Andrew Wood, and Kendra Wood; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Wood and Ronnie Wood; two sisters, Jackie Luther and Linda Martinez; aunt, Debora Schauer; as well as many other family members and countless friends.
Gary was a loving and caring man who was known for his dedication to his family and his work. In addition to his work, Gary was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his loved ones. He was a wonderful paw paw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his love and care for them will be deeply missed.
Gary was the proud owner of Woody's Home Remodeling and House Leveling, a business he ran with passion and pride. His hard work and dedication were evident in the quality of his work and he was highly respected in his field.
Gary never met a stranger, and anyone who would cross his path couldn't help but call him friend, he was likeable like that. He was also a pool shark and loved playing pool with his son and his best friend, Jack, as well as many other friends.
Gary will be forever loved and missed by his kids, grandchildren, family and friends, and by all those whose life he touched.
Services in honor of Gary will be held on Monday, May 1st at 2:00 pm, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 pm at McNutt Funeral Home located at 1703 Porter Road in Conroe, Texas.
