Gaspar DeLaPaz, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 59.
Gaspar was born on July 13, 1966, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, the son of Alcadio DeLaPaz and Carmen (Moran) DeLaPaz.
Gaspar was the kind of person who gave freely and loved deeply. He had a heart for everyone and a kitchen that was always open—never hesitating to cook for anyone who walked through the door. His generosity, warmth, and unmistakable presence lit up every room he entered. He had a way of making people feel welcomed, cared for, and at home, and his love for family and friends knew no bounds.
He is survived by his children, Kayla Miller, Charles DeLaPaz, and Latesha DeLaPaz, and their mother, Amy Jo DeLaPaz; his grandchildren, Charles “C.J.” Miller, Alicia Rodriguez, Jaeden Ward, and Alannah Ward; and a great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Fermin DeLaPaz, Adelada Ocasio, Diana DeLaPaz, Javier DeLaPaz, Maria del Carmen Rivera, and Arcadio DeLaPaz, as well Johanna Rodriguez, many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
Gaspar was preceded in death by his sister Aida DeLaPaz, his father Alcadio DeLaPaz, his brother, Henry DeLaPaz, and his mother Carmen DeLaPaz.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, located at 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Gaspar’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the love he shared so freely, and the memories that will be cherished forever.
