Gautham Rajanikanth

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we share the passing of Gautham Rajanikanth on March 16th, 2026. A beloved son, grandson, devoted brother, and dear friend to many of those in the Pittsburgh community and beyond, Gautham brought warmth, intelligence, and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. Gautham was a student at South Fayette High School in 11th grade and throughout his 17 years of life, touched many lives in meaningful ways.

Gautham was a kind and caring person. He loved his family, especially his brother. He was a private person but enjoyed the company of his friends in school and neighborhood.

As a dedicated musician, Gautham showcased an exceptional talent for the violin, playing with the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra. He shared his love of music, also playing the violin with the Sahana Band, clarinet in the SFHS Wind Ensemble, trumpet in the SFHS Pep Band, and piano over the years.

Beyond music, Gautham showed admirable strength and perseverance through his commitment to martial arts, training in karate since he was 7 years old. His dedication to Tang Soo Do culminated in Gautham earning his second-degree black belt and was pursuing his 3rd degree black belt. Gautham was also passionate about animals, building legos, and video games. He was a nature enthusiast and often spent time outdoors, climbing trees, going on walks, and appreciated wildlife ever since he was a child.

He will always be cherished as a thoughtful individual and his life will continue to be an inspiration to those privileged to know him.

Gautham is survived by his parents, Rajanikanth Jayaseelan and Gayathri Krishnamoorthy, younger brother Ashwin Rajanikanth, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and a wide circle of friends. Their love for him is endless, and Gautham's memory will remain a guiding light in their lives.

Friends and family are invited to a service on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Beinhauer Funeral Home (2630 W Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15216). Please join us in honoring and celebrating Gautham's life.
