A Memorial Service for Gavin Alexander Knight, 39, will be held at a later date.
Gavin Alexander Knight was born April 16, 1986, to parents, Elizabeth “Betsy” Glathart Knight and Lawrence “Larry” Knight. A lifelong Palatine resident, Gavin was raised with his two sisters, Jessica Knight Ford and Meredith Knight, along with a menagerie of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, gerbils, snakes, and even a toad that he wandered home with one day. After graduating from Palatine High School, Gavin earned his associate’s degree from William Rainey Harper College. He worked at UPS in Palatine for over ten years.
In his free time, Gavin enjoyed gaming with his friends, both in person and online. He was an avid reader, liked going to the movies, and was not afraid to express his opinions to those around him. He was fond of spending time with his family and especially loved being an uncle to his two niblings Emerson and Kai.
Gavin passed away peacefully in his sleep due to complications of kidney failure while on home dialysis. He is survived by his sister, Jessica, her husband Kevin, and their children Emerson and Kai, and also his sister, Meredith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Betsy; and his aunt, Kay Glathart.
