Gaylen Thomas Treadway, 89, of Mount Hope passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Born September 11, 1936 in Raleigh, Co. he was the son of the late Thora and Agnes Treadway.
Gaylen was self employed owning his own trucking company that he was very proud of as he loved working on trucks, he was a man who loved the Lord and was a 50 plus year member of the GracePointe Fellowship Church in Eccles, WV. In his leisure he enjoyed watching Nascar as he was avid #3 Dale Earnhart fan, drinking his coffee while eating his chocolate covered cherries, loved his Christmas fruit cake, mowing the lawn, coon hunting, playing checkers and cards, and loved his livestock that he had on his farm including cattle, chickens, and horses. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. He was a devoted and loving husband to the love of his life Jane as of December they had been married 72 years.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his children, Lynn Montgomery, Tina Montgomery, and James Montgomery; sisters, Jesse Davis, Louise Bowyer, Helen Lilly, Judy Wickline, Shelby Davis, and Lillian Thomas; and brother, Shirley Treadway.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving and devoted wife of 72 years Jane Louise Davis Treadway; daughter, Brenda Fama (Ronald); grandchildren, Erica Meadows, Kristin Vandall, and Conner Fama; great grandchildren, Tyler Vandall (Megan), Lexie Vandall, Braydon Harper, Brinley Meadows, and Braxtyn Meadows; great great grandchild, Layla Vandall; sister, Emma; and brothers, Jack Treadway, Kenny Treadway, and Homer Treadway.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at GracePointe Fellowship Church in Eccles, WV with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
Friends may call on the family one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
