ALTONA - Gaylord L. Guay, 82, of Dragoon Road, passed away, August 29, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 29, 1942, son of Maurice and Myrtle (Relation) Guay.

Gaylord married the former Carol LaValley on January 2, 1965 in Beekmantown, NY. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. He started working as a toll collector for the Rouses Point bridge and then went to work as a truck driver for the New York State Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement. Gaylord loved being in nature, hunting and fishing as well as tending to his flowers and gardening with his loving wife. He also found great joy caring for his feline and canine babies.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Guay; daughter Shawn (Brett) Boucher; brother, James and (Mae) Guay, sister-in-law, Janeen Guay; grandchildren, Addison Boucher and Abigail Boucher; and several nieces and nephews.

Gaylord was predeceased by his son, Randy Guay; and brothers, Aaron Guay and Maurice "Nick" Guay.

A graveside service will take place Friday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the Town of Ellenburg Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA.
