Geffery Kim (Geff) Cowan, 63 years, was born on July 24, 1962, in Modesto CA., to Gerald & Jan (Frantz) Cowan.
Dad was baptized on December 17, 1978, into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church (Tuolumne District), to which he remained faithful.
On July 18, 1982, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Jane Driver. This union was blessed with 4 children.
Dad & Mom lived in CA., where he worked with his grandma Jennie in the cabinet shop. In 1989, they moved to Eel River District, IN. For the next 30 years, he operated his own cabinet & countertop shop. The past year, he worked for MDM construction. We have lots of precious memories of camping trips, sightseeing, & observing God’s creation.
Dad is survived by his wife, children: Brandon, Jennifer (Brett) Filbrun, Kevin (Alissa), Laura (Seth) Lewis, & daughter-in-law, Amanda. Grandchildren: Damian (special friend Piper), Nicholas, & Hunter Cowan, Cody, Kylie, Kelsey, Colton, Cohen, & Remi Filbrun, Adriane, Minda, & Kolby Cowan, Betsy, Mandy, Travis, & Corbin Lewis. His mother & mother-in-law, Nelda Driver. Sister, Janette (Aaron) Root, brothers, Curt (Lisa) & Justin. 2 sisters-in-laws & companions. Many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his dad, brother Gerry, grandson Lincoln Filbrun, and father-in-law Don Driver.
Dad had fond anticipation of hosting Annual Meeting 2027 on their property.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 2128 East 1200 South, Silver Lake, Indiana. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Silver Lake.
The family of Geff Cowan has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
