Gemma Laureen Lester

Our beloved Gemma L. Lester, age 75, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Gemma was born on January 6, 1950, to the late Raymond Julien and KimLin Chin-Soon in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. She is preceded in death by her late husband William Ronald Lester Sr, brother Kenny Julien, mom Adriane Julien, and great-grandson Jaxson Cole.
Gemma attended Fyzabad Presbyterian Primary School in Trinidad. She was the 1st Miss Local Independence of Trinidad in 1967.
Gemma moved to Hinesville, GA in 1982 and met two of her best friends Geraldine Snowden and Gwendoline Pena who taught her how to drive.
She owned two businesses in Hinesville, GA Gemma's BBQ Pit and Gemma's Hot Wing Stand. She loved to cook food from her country and feed her friends. She also loved to garden. She would always make sure to plant hot peppers so that she could make her own pepper sauce and give to family and friends. Her favorite flower was the Sunflower. Almost everything in the house had a Sunflower theme. Cherishing her memory are her children; Ramona Mohammed and Karen Brooker, of Trinidad and Tobago, William R. Lester, Jr. of Greenfield, Ohio, Natasha Lester of Midway, GA and Brian Lester of Hinesville, GA. Also cherishing her memory are her siblings; Pamela Kong, Kurt Julien Wayne Julien and David Julien of Trinidad and Tobago and Patricia Hoffman of Taylor, Michigan. Also cherishing her memory are 17 grand-children, 12 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
