Gemmie E. "Gem" Davis

Gemmie E. "Gem" Campbell Davis, 82, wife of Jeffrey W. "Jeff" Davis, Sr., died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, SC.

Born January 31, 1944, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late James Ellis Campbell and the late Doris McCabe Campbell. Mrs. Davis was a member of Graham Baptist Church. She retired from Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Survivors in addition to her husband of nearly fifty-nine years include three children, Jeffrey W. "Jay" Davis, Jr. (Lynn) of Sumter, Jennie Davis Cromer (Derron) of Ehrhardt, and Kristie Davis Newman of Sumter; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey W. "Trey" Davis, III, Drew Davis, Elizabeth Davis Ard (William), Adam Fry, Merritt Fry, Kaylynn Cromer, Yates Newman (Fiancé, Kaylie Grainger), Chandler Newman, and Olivia Newman; three sisters, Marianne Floyd of Gable, Janice Brunson (Don) of Sumter, and Glenn Beatson (Martin) of Manning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Graham Baptist Church with the Rev. John Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Brunson Cemetery on Plowden Mill Road.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Trey Davis, Drew Davis, Adam Fry, Merritt Fry, Chandler Newman, and nephew, Pierce Davis.

C.W. Brunson, Truett McNair, and her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday in the Graham Baptist Church Activities Building and other times at the home.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Davis's caregivers, Helen Prince and Carolyn Demore for the exceptional care they provided.
