Joyce Steen Obituary
Born November 22, 1953, in Wimpole Park, England, she was the daughter of the late Paul Edison Tuten, Sr. and the late Sadie Burnell Locklear Tuten. She was a bank teller for over 40 years and spent most of her career at NBSC. Mrs. Joyce loved traveling with her family especially with her mom, they would travel to the Mountains, Myrtle Beach and her favorite little spot Little Switzerland in NC. When she was at home, she enjoyed her cats and listening to her favorite country singer Josh Turner.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Angie Geddings (Billy) and Shelly Sutton (Sean); five grandchildren, Breanne Ivey, Kaitlin Geddings, Chandler Flynn, Leslie Flynn and Cody Schultz; one brother, Paul Tuten, Jr.: one sister, Melissa Lee (Tim) and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. on Monday at Bethel Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for memorials to be made to Bereans Sunday School Class or the WMU Ministry, 2401 Bethel Church Rd. Sumter, SC 29154.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
