Gena Louise Orsburn

Gena Louise Orsburn, age 67, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 17, 2025. Born in California on May 22, 1957, to the late Eugene Orsburn and Donna Gross Orsburn, her family relocated shortly after her birth, and Gena remained a proud Texan through the rest of her years.
She dedicated over 40 years of her life to the medical field, touching countless lives with her quiet strength and compassion. Outside of work, she found joy in her garden, where she nurtured both plants and peace. Her faithful dog, Miss Sugar, was always by her side, a constant companion through life's seasons.
A longtime resident of Winnsboro, Texas, Gena was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. She loved her church family and will be remembered with warmth, gratitude, and love by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Donna Orsburn, brothers David Timothy Orsburn and Jeffery Dean Orsburn, sisters Cynthia Lou Orsburn and Jennifer Valene Orsburn. Gena is survived by her son, Joshua Wayne Zachary; her daughter, Kendra Dayl Scott of Kilgore, Texas; her uncle, Ron Wayne Orsburn and Jenny Orsburn; her aunt, Nora Hildreath; her sister, Michele Jenise Luttrell; her sister, Holly Davis of Winnsboro, Texas; her grandchildren, Ricky Ray Zachary, Miley Mae Zachary, and Lillian Grace Lively. Gena is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that were near and dear to her heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Gena's honor on Sunday, June 1st, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Red Barn in Winnsboro, Texas. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Winnsboro Animal Shelter in Gena's honor, a cause close to her heart.
