It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gene Eversole on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the age of 97 of natural causes. Gene leaves behind a legacy of integrity and hard work.
Born on May 3, 1928, Gene was a lifelong resident of Carroll. He farmed side by side with his brother, Charles, and Father, Lee, for more than sixty years.
A proud alumnus of Carroll High School, he started farming with his father and brother before being called up by the United States Army to serve from 1955 to 1957 and was stationed in Germany before his service was over. Later when not farming he also drove a Carroll school bus for over ten years and participated in many public dance activities, the family has heard many stories about this period of his life and what a good dancer he was.
Gene is survived by his sister-in-law Diane; nephews Steve (Denise) and Eric (Suzanna); grandnephews and niece, Alex (Jamie), Clint, Kara, Garrett, and Colin; great-grandnephew and niece Theo and Jojo. He was strong willed regarding how he lived his life and lived independently until the day of his passing.
