Graveside services Gene Bartlett Haskins 81, of Logansport will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Marthaville Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.
Gene will be fondly remembered for his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His faith was unwavering. When asked how he knew there was a God, he said, “Have you ever just looked at a butterfly? It didn't come from nothing”. Gene took great pride in being a provider for his family. He was owner of Haskins Heating and Air Conditioning and Ark-La Gas Grills through hard work and dedication for over 50 years. Gene loved the outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and gardening. He attended Mt. Olivet Baptist church in Stanley where he loved his Men’s Sunday School Class. His dry humor and quick wit created countless cherished memories for his family and friends. Gene Haskins will be deeply missed
Gene passed away on Sunday, Jume 16, 2024, at Christus Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA. He was born on December 21, 1942, in Natchitoches, LA to his parents Woodrow Wilson Haskins and Amber Mae Eason Haskins. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his 2 brothers Woodrow and Shad Haskins.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Haskins, of Logansport, LA; 2 daughters Julie Bass (Tommy) of Greenwood, LA and Melissa Haskins (Mike Malone) of Greenwood, LA; 2 step-daughters Donna Vergo (Pat) of Joquin, TX and Debbie Cardova (Bubba) of Jasper, TX; grandchildren: Brandon Redwine, Bart Redwine, Tiffany Tape, Jennifer Lingle, Alan Bass, Jay Bass, Mitchell Bass, Reid Golden, and Rhett Golden; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Caston, Bruce Lee “Killer”, Robert Springer, Keith Parker, Brandon Redwine, and Bart Redwine.
