Gene Melton Iler, Sr., age 79, passed away on January 19, 2026 at 08:40 at his residence in Farina, IL.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00p.m. at Keen’s Chapel Cemetery in Farina, Illinois. Kevin Kriesel will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pagel Funeral Home to help offset the cost of the service or donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.pagelfuneralhome.com
Gene was born on September 16, 1946, the son of Clarence Iler and Pearl Seaver in Pasadena, California. He married Robin Jordan on November 23, 1974, in California and she preceded him death on March 14, 2009. Gene was a Navy veteran and enjoyed reading, making jewelry, playing the online dragon city game and spending time with family.
He is survived by his son; Gene Iler (Yvette) of Farina, daughter Marie Williams (Roger Blair) of Edgewood, Illinois; Eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; Brother, Andrew Iler (Carol) of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by, wife, parents, daughter; Sabrina Mitchell, Brother; Jim Iler.
