Gene “Curtis” Jones, 84, of Crab Point, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation Center.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to honor Curtis’ life which will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Saturday, February 10th at Munden Funeral Home.
Gene was born on September 25, 1939, to the late Carol and Pearl Jones. Born and raised in Newport, NC, he graduated from Newport High School. Following school, Curtis joined the U.S. Air Force in which he proudly served his country. After his military service, he found his calling in civil service, working as a Manager at NADEP, Cherry Point.
Following his retirement, Curtis turned his passion into a profession by starting his own business, Curtis Electric, where he provided his expertise to the community for many years.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughters, Melodie Jones Adams (Sam) of Morehead City, NC, Memorie Jones Wadsworth (Albert) of Manalapan, FL, and Meredith Jones Emerson (Todd) of Atlanta, GA; son, Gene Curtis "Curt" Jones Jr. (Stephanie) of Pikeville, NC; and grandchildren, Austin Curtis Jones and Ansley Rae Emerson.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Smith Jones, and brothers, Alton “Al” Jones and J.C. Jones.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
