Mr. Morris Gene Lance, 59, of Grenada, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at his residence.
Gene was born on April 5, 1965, in Grenada.
Gene was a member of The Pentecostals of Grenada. He was a welder and fabricator, he enjoyed carpenter work, and he was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at The Pentecostals of Grenada at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm at the church on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, and one hour before the service on Thursday. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Cascilla.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Lance; daughters Nichole Bouchillon (Jonathan) of Batesville, Laken Smith and Julia Johnson (Ken), both of Southaven, MS.; sons Austin Lance (Candace) of Cascilla and Jordan Smith (Deidra) of Somerville, TN. He is also survived by Seven brothers and sisters: Sonny Lance (Donna), Dewey Avery (Viki), Bobby Avery (Janice), Kim Melton, Loretta Jackson (John), Tammie Shankle (Barry), and Becky Brogan (Steve). Eight grandchildren: Brooklyn Bouchillon, Knox Bouchillon, John Austin Lance, Tuck Lance, Kolston Smith, Laciee Smith, Kashton Jones, and Krue Jones. Along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his biological father Windell Lance, and his parents, Bobby and Carolyn Avery.
Pallbearers will be; Trae Miller, Tyler Thornton, Brent Anderson, Bubba Jones, Barry Shankle, and Steve Brogan. Honorary pallbearers will be; Kannon Tipton, Cooper Tipton, Kade Tipton and Daniel Garlington.
