Eugene M. Lehman, 74, of Eureka, Illinois, peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with his family lovingly by his side.

Gene was born on December 11, 1951, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to Adin and Helen Meyers Lehman. He married Carol Schrock on September 15, 1979, in Eureka.

He is survived by his wife, three sons-Josh (Jenny) Lehman of Washington, Brian (Sara) Lehman, and Andrew (Emily) Lehman, both of Eureka, Illinois-and twelve grandchildren: Ben, Faith, Hope, Joy, Melody, Reese, Grant, Kylie, Ava, Colin, Judah, and Breck. Also surviving are his brother, Dean (Brenda) Lehman of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and his sister, Suzann (Lynn) Eberly of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Steven Lehman.

Gene's love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in the way he loved and cared for those around him. He was deeply passionate about the Word of God and eager to share his faith with others. To Gene, there were no strangers-only friends he had not yet met-and he found joy in connecting with everyone he encountered.

Over his 42 years of service at DMI/CNH Goodfield, Gene formed deep and lasting friendships. He was a devoted member of Bethany Community Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon and led the Serving Other Selflessly (SOS) ministry. Gene's greatest desire was for everyone to come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Bethany Community Church in Washington from 3 pm until 7 pm. A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 am on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, also at Bethany Community Church. A private family burial will be held at Roanoke Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given in his name to Bethany Community Church or to Pathway Ministries. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington has been entrusted with arrangements.
