PALATINE - Gene Evert Nordlander, 85, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023. Beloved husband of Sharon, nee Ziemba. Loving father of Pam (Bob and the late William Weis) Clough, Mike (Kristy) and Scott. Adored grandfather of Jason, Melissa, Kendra, Nick, Janessa, Brianna, Andrea and the late Nicole. Proud great-grandfather to 6. Cherished brother of Barbara (Ed) Havlicek. Dear son of the late Sven Evert and Gladys. Gene will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and worked as an electrician for many years. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29th, from 2 pm-7pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine IL 60067. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30th, at 11am at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
