For a man who thought he'd never make it to age 60, Gene amazed us all by making it to 97.
Gene Ward Tuttle was born to Raymond (R. G.) and Armoral Faulkner Tuttle in New Plymouth, Idaho on December 4, 1927, the youngest of three sons. He passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2025, surrounded by family.
Gene was a veteran of the Korean War, and loved his country passionately. He enjoyed his long career as a transmitter engineer for KTVB TV in
Boise, Idaho, and KTVR TV in La Grande, Oregon, and loved tinkering with and fixing anything electronic.
He was a dedicated husband to Beverly, his loving wife of 71 years, and a proud father of his children, Lori Hooke (Chris), Susan Davies (Kim), and Dave (Rauna). His 12 grandchildren and their spouses, as well as 19 great-grandchildren each had a very tender place in his heart. Family meant the world to Gene.
A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Genes example of service and love for everyone leaves an incredible legacy for all of his descendants. Among many other things, he will be missed for his funny "Grandpa-ism" quotes, his unforgettable bear hugs, and his signature motto: "Every day is a good day!"
A celebration of Genes life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 465 W 700 S in Lehi at 12:00 p.m., with viewings on Friday, March 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the same location.
